The benefits of lymphatic drainage include reducing swelling, fluid retention, and edema. It also improves blood circulation, boosts the immune system and metabolism, reduces stress and anxiety, clears brain fog, increases energy levels, and diminishes the appearance of cellulite.
Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system does not have its own pump.
Stimulating the lymphatic system can improve lymphatic circulation, reduce swelling and inflammation, and provide support to the immune system.
Overall, the stimulation of the lymphatic system is crucial for maintaining a robust immune system and promoting overall wellness!

Prepare for a lymphatic drainage massage by staying hydrated, having a light meal before the session, wearing comfortable clothing, communicating any concerns to the therapist, arriving on time, removing jewelry, and adopting a relaxed mindset. These preparations optimize your experience and enhance the benefits of the lymphatic drainage massage.

To enhance the results of lymphatic drainage, it is recommended to focus on increasing water consumption and engaging in physical activity.
After the session, it is advisable to drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and support the body’s natural detoxification process.
Exercise helps generate pressure on the lymphatic vessels, stimulating their contraction and promoting better circulation of blood and lymph. Even light exercises, such as a 30-minute walk, can be beneficial.

What should I expect during a Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
This massage is a full body sequence followed in order. We can spend more time on certain areas you retain more water but the full body sequence must always be completed.
This massage involves work on the exposed abdomen while you are face up as well as in a sidelying position - your chest will be appropriately draped with a towel during these portions.
Expect to change positions more often, we will start face up, move to sidelying right & left, back to facing up and then on to your stomach and back to face up at the end if we are including the facial portion.
Feel free to let me know if you need to use the restroom during the treatment - this is normal.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
Pregnant women can safely undergo manual lymphatic drainage, but it is recommended to start after the third month of pregnancy. Pregnancy Lymphatic Drainage offers numerous benefits for expectant mothers, including relief from fluid retention, reduced swelling in the legs and feet, improved cellular nutrition and tissue oxygenation, and prevention of common concerns like cellulite, varicose veins, and stretch marks. Please confirm with your physician before booking if you have any concerns.
Post Pregnancy
In the case of a natural childbirth, a woman can generally receive lymphatic drainage soon after delivery, once she has obtained approval from her doctor to assess postpartum condition and determine the appropriate timing for lymphatic drainage.
In the case of a C-section delivery, it is generally recommended to wait for about six weeks before receiving lymphatic drainage massage. This period allows for proper healing of the incision site and the body’s recovery from the surgical procedure.
What is the difference between Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage & traditional lymphatic drainage like MLD and Vodders?
While both techniques share the same principles of stimulating lymphatic flow and promoting detoxification, this technique offers unique movements and more pressure. This specialized approach can lead to more effective outcomes and require fewer sessions compared to traditional lymphatic drainage.
How often should I get a Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
In the beginning, you may come more frequently and as your lymphatic system works better, you can space out the sessions more. The frequency of lymphatic massage will depend on your needs and goals. Twice a month is ideal but even if done once a month, you will see a significant difference in the way you feel and look.
Who should not get a Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
Lymphatic drainage massage is a specialized therapy that aims to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart - not everyone is a suitable candidate for this type of massage.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage is contraindicated for the following conditions without a letter of authorization from a physician:
Cancer
Major heart problems
Deep vein thrombosis
Active Infection (active cold/flu, illness)
Acute Inflammation
